Essential oils are used for a plethora of things, and in our household - everything.
They are medicines from the earth, and next to Tylenol and hydrogen peroxide, they are just about all that resides in my medicine cabinet. But the properties, ingredients, uses, vocabulary, emotional responses of each oils, cooking with essential oils, cleaning with essential oils, yadda yadda yadda can add up and become overwhelming.
