Essential oils are used for a plethora of things, and in our household - everything. 

They are medicines from the earth, and next to Tylenol and hydrogen peroxide, they are just about all that resides in my medicine cabinet. But the properties, ingredients, uses, vocabulary, emotional responses of each oils, cooking with essential oils, cleaning with essential oils, yadda yadda yadda can add up and become overwhelming.

In addition to Grigore's great information, Libby Vander Ploeg (Shout out to another Michigan girl!) fills the pages with her whimsical illustrations of how to use and apply different EO's.

The Portable Essential Oils

The Portable Essential Oils by Anne Kennedy is exactly that - portable. This pocket reference includes every day remedies for natural health and wellness. For example: 

Acne issues? Try a Lavender-Chamomile Poultice. 2 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar, 8 drops lavender, 8 drops roman chamomile.

Allergies and sinus headache? Minty-Lavender-Eucalyptus Balm. 1 ounce carrier oil, 12 drops peppermint, 12 drops lavender, 8 drops eucalyptus. Apply to cheekbones, forehead, and massage into temples. 

Kennedy started her study of herbs and plants focusing on Native American herbal remedies. Part One of the books is organized by ailments, and Part Two is organized by each Essential Oil and it's healing properties.

At the time Jesus walked the Earth! In Biblical times, essential oils were used for everything from holy ceremonies to everyday needs. Minetor's book is written at the intersection of science and spirituality. This book has information for religious and non-religous people alike.
